Whether you're a seasoned traveler or first-time flier, taking a trip with The Modern Pantry means all of your needs are taken care of. Get picked up and dropped off at the Florence airport, call a charming hotel home for a week, fill your days with just the right amount of activity (so you feel like you took advantage of the day but aren't completely pooped), and head home knowing you've experienced a side of Tuscany only available to those who know the locals.

I met Francesco while we were doing our Masters degrees in Gastronomy in Northern Italy. Bonded over our shared love of all things food, we spent a year diving deep into what makes Italian cuisine unique. After we parted ways at the end of the year I moved back to Canada to start The Modern Pantry and Francesco returned to his home province of Tuscany where he has been working in food tourism since. We're beyond excited to be coming together to offer a taste of what we both do best: share food stories, connect with artisanal producers, and make new friends over a glass (or three) of wine.

Kendall was so accommodating and the generosity of her time, wine, champagne and all the first class foods was amazing.  She eagerly shared her extensive knowledge of the Provence area and all the fine foods we were served.   Kendall has a wonderful rapport with the farms visited and I learned so much!  Our accommodation in the serene village of Oppede was absolutely beautiful, so quiet and tranquil.  The entire tour was beyond my wildest expectations and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for an exceptional holiday!!

The tour includes:

  • 6 nights accommodation in a stunning, typical Italian hotel
  • Transportation to and from Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola
  • Transportation between all scheduled activities in a comfortable van
  • 10 gourmet meals (4 lunches and 5 dinners) including wine. Other days still have lots of food, so up to you whether you would like to go out for a meal
  • All breakfasts
  • 2 cooking classes (including pizza made in a wood burning oven!)
  • Visit to thermal baths
  • Guided visit of a typical market
  • Truffle hunting followed by a truffle-everything lunch
  • Visit to an olive mill and lesson on all things olive oil
